birthday girl

Think back to just how many times your parents have slaved over putting on parties for you.  Complete with strawberry sponge layer cakes, decorations, games, friends and lots of fun.

It was my Mum's birthday last week so yesterday I put on a little garden party for her.  Complete with a strawberry sponge layer cake, flour less chocolate cake, lemon cake and delicate sandwiches and a selection of savoury pastries.  No party would be the same without a dash of Mumm champagne, perfect for the day.

My usual style isn't 'country garden' but it just felt right for yesterday.  Lace table cloths, dusty roses, white lilac, peonies and tibouchina and a pop of red roses, my mothers favourite. I even had an 80s throw back with some raffia decorating my cheese 'cake' and if you look closely you will see we had a tiger at the party.

Love you so much Mum, happy birthday.  mxxxx
