blue gilt

Blue is often considered a cool colour, but I see it as a calm colour and calm colours are also warming.  Mixing blue with metallics, and in particular gold and bronze, can make a space glamorously calm.  I also find that while many interpret blue as casual and fun, the colour can be royal and princely.  The magic of the blue items in this story is that, with a hint of gilt, gold and chrome, they can set the tone for a demure, sophisticated interior.

I hope you have your Prince (and his gold) with you for this little shopping event Princess.  You might have thought you'd stepped into the Palace of Versailles with the (1) blue and gold Cole and Son wallpaper, but looking down at the (2) mod 1960s carpet on the floor you realise it's just a juxtaposition. Oh look, a little (3) butterfly with agate on his wings, how dainty.  And who wouldn't want a little gold dust sprinkled on these (4) Murano glass wall sconces?  Having a hoot?  Well you will with these little (5) salt and pepper shaker owls in gold at your table.  Princey looks a bit shaken up, better lay him down on this (6) electric blue velvet tufted chaise before calming him down gazing into this (8) Joshua Yeldham painting from Arthouse Gallery.  Make sure you perch yourself next to this (9) Curtis Jere sculpture to admire these possessions.  The (10) lucite chandelier looks likes it has been ink dipped and is sure to create a little jingly twinkle in the wind on your way out. Check your lippy in the (11) gorgeous gilt gold mirror and the gold dust creating a glow on your gorgeous skin.  Oh wait, you forgot your Prince.  Don't leave him on the chaise too long or someone else might forage for your gold...
